Correspondence of the Richmond Dispatch.
a run to Lunenburg.

Chimborazo Camp.

Near Richmond,

May 17, 1861.

A week ago we borrowed time enough for a hurried trip to Fredericksburg. On our return we found a letter from some of our fair friends in Lunenburg, requesting us to come up and present one of their infantry companies with a flag, the result of their own industry. Coming from such a source, we, of course, had nothing to do but to say ‘"Yes."’

We found Captain Orgain's company, for whom the flag was intended, encamped at a beautiful spring, near a church at which it was formerly our pleasure to minister Large, stately oaks spread their gnarled branches above them, affording a genial shade, while at their feet gushed in continual streams an ever full and overflowing fountain of cheering water. The men seemed to possess warm hearts and strong arms, and, under the leadership of their young but gallant officer, will doubtless make their mark in the approaching struggle.

Captain Orgain is the present Commonwealth's Attorney of the county, and the son of John Orgain, Jr., the late representative in the House of Delegates, who has two other sons in the company. He goes forth, not showing what awaits him, leaving behind not only his office, but also a young wife, nerved for the struggle by the thought that Liberty is dearer to the heart of man than all else besides.

We take pleasure in saying that the aspersions which have been thrown on this county, because of her seeming backwardness, are utterly groundless, and that as soon as suitable arms can be procured, Lunenburg will have three as formidable companies as any portion of our State can furnish.

The farmers are actively engaged in preparing "bread for the eater and seed for the sower, and the luxuriant fields of deep-green wheat which meet the eye on every hand, furnish us the assurance that our soldiers will be abundantly provided with the staff of life as well as the sinews of war.

Capt. Orgain's company numbers seventy men, and is rapidly increasing. Chaplain.
