Daring assault.

--On Friday evening last a daring assault was made upon the person of Mr. Geo. D. Wooton, a member of the bar, in the neighborhood of Camp Lee. Mr. W. had but a few moments before left the camp ground, and taking a position on the platform of the cars, which were about to start for the city, was standing there quietly, when some person, unknown to him, struck him a violent blow across the face with a club, knocking him down and completely blinding him for the time. Information of this outrage has been furnished the Commonwealth's Attorney, who will bring the affair to the notice of the next Grand Jury.
