Naval-engagement

Louisville, Sept. 5.
--The Cairo gun-boats Tyler and Lexington, off Hychman, engaged the Confederate gun-boat Yankee, supported by two batteries on shore. The Federal boats fired twenty shots, and then returned to Cairo uninjured.

General Grant took command to-day.
