Determined to kill himself.

--A man named Nicholson, residing in New Orleans, on Sunday, the 1st inst., attempted to kill himself by falling upon a sword, and then by carving up his body with a shoe-knife. The sword entered his stomach, and he slashed his arms and breast horribly with the knife. He was sent to Charity Hospital, but it was thought he would die very soon, as his wounds were mortal.
