Drunk and Disorderly.

--A charge of this nature was urged successfully yesterday, be fore the Mayor, against an individual calling himself James Murray. To it was joined the additional one of having, while under the influence of spirits, attempted to cut with a knife various people passing along the street. The ‘"Major Gates"’ appearance and rummy looking countenance of Murray convicted him of the first charge, had other evidence been wanting. To prove the last one, officer Blankinship produced a dyspeptic looking butcher knife, with which Murray had cleaved the air in vain endeavor to find ‘"blood."’ The prisoner had been liberated from the cage a short time prior to the performance above alluded to.--He was sent to jail in default of a voucher for his future demeanor.
