Arrival of California gold.

--The steamship Northern Light, from Aspinwall on the 25th ultimo, arrived at New York on Friday night. She brought $754,840 in California gold on freight. On the passage of the last steamer from San Francisco to Panama, the schooner Active was at Many vanilla, near the spot where the Golden Gate was wreaked. She had been sent down from San Francisco, under the command of Captain Watermann, for the purpose of saving the $1,000,000 in gold which was lost in the above steamer, but when the mail steamer passed the divers had gone back to San Francisco for further assistance. It was the opinion of the passengers that on the return of the divers the gold or at least the greater portion of it, would be saved.
