Ranaway.
--From C. S. Sheps, Bacon's Quarter Branch, Richmond, Va., on Tuesday, the 6th inst., a negro man, named William, (a blacksmith by trade) Said negro was purchased in Warren county, N. C., from the estate of Peter Powell, dec'd, by Brittingham & Owin, or Mr. Dupree, and brought to Richmond and resold to Hatcher & Webster. Said negro is about five feet ten inches high, copper colored complexion, with a pleasing countenance. He had on when he left a gray mixed suit of clothes and gray cap. He have scar on one of his legs, (the one not remembered,) caused by a kick from a mule. it is supposed he left with General Ransom's division, as it passed through on that day, perhaps having met with some acquaintance and told a plausible tale. I will pay a reward of $25 for said negro if arrested in the city of Richmond, $50 if taken in the State of Virginia; or $100 if taken out of the State, and confined in any jail, so that he can be procured, or delivered to Hill, Dickinson & Co., Auct's, or to the undersigned.
