The reported Louisiana victory.

--The Mobile Advertiser, of the 9th inst., has the subjoined paragraph, which is probably the foundation from which grew the story about Gen. Taylor having captured six thousand prisoners at Donaldsonville, La:

We learn that a bearer of dispatches from Gen. Taylor to the Government at Richmond arrived here yesterday. We are informed that he reports that a battle had taken place at Donaldsonville, on the 13th ult, between a portion of the forces of Taylor and Banks — the former with seven hundred and the latter one thousand men. Our forces won a victory, and captured five hundred prisoners. No battle to the extent that has been rumored has occurred within his knowledge.
