New Medical and Surgical Journal.

--A most necessary work is about to be commenced, under the authority of the Surgeon General of the Confederate States, and with the active assistance of the Association of Army and Navy Surgeons. It is the publication of a Medical and Surgical Journal, to be issued in monthly numbers, which will be made by its editors and contributors equal to any medical work now published, and which will be invaluable to the profession. Arrangements have been made, we learn to secure regularly the best periodical foreign medical works, and thus make that department of the journal fully equal to any on this continent. The book is to be published by the well known firm of Ayres & Wade, and will be furnished at ten dollars per annum. As the publication commences about the first of January, it is important that the subscribers should send in their names as soon as practicable.
