Florida.

--Last week, Brigadier-General Ashboths with a Yankee cavalry force, went from the navy- yard, Pensacola, for the purpose of capturing one of our scouting parties; but hearing that the Fifteenth Confederate cavalry was in motion to intercept him, fell back in haste. In crossing the ford at the mouth of Big Bayou after dark, he neglected to make proper signals to the gunboats at that point. Mistaking him for a Confederate, they opened a fire of grape and canister, and the result was that twenty-seven of his command were killed and a considerable number wounded.
