Beef.

--We are assured by Mr. Ingram that the article in Wednesday's Dispatch with reference to his sales of beef was erroneous in several particulars. He killed on the morning alluded to, thirteen head of cattle, and had six quarters left after the close of the market. He had an unusually heavy supply of cattle on hand at the time, and was, for good reasons, required to dispose of it with at least tolerable expedition. The interest of the city, as well as his own, required this; and he assumes that it was therefore perfectly proper that he should dispose of a part of his supply by wholesale, as, with these facts, of course it was.
