Fall of a chimney.

--At an early hour yesterday morning, before the break of day, the occupants of the house of B. Heinrich, jeweler, on Main street, between Ninth and Tenth streets, were suddenly aroused by a violent whizzing sound, and then the simultaneous falling of bricks and slate from the roof to the pavement below. The fright created by this unusual noise greatly alarmed the awakened residents, but, as the singular sounds which were heard ceased in a short time, nothing more was thought of the affair until a few hours later, at which time it was broad daylight, when, upon repairing to the street, not only had the chimney been thrown down and a large portion of the state roof been scooped out, but among the rubbish which covered the pavement was also found several fragments of shell, thereby indicating that one of those deadly missiles had exploded upon the roof of Mr. Heinrich's house.
