Escape from Castle Thunder.

--William Brander, a member of company C, Seventh South Carolina regiment, effected his escape from Castle Thunder about 9 o' clock on Wednesday night. He first got through the skylight to the top of the building, and having prepared himself with strips of blankets and clothing, tied them to the chimney and lowered himself to the ground in the rear of the building. Having reached the ground, Brander cut across the alley, and, mounting a fence opposite the prison, gained the lot of D. J. McCormack, through which he passed into Main street. The prisoner had not been retaken up to a late hour yesterday afternoon. He was committed to the Castle, on the 14th of November last, on the charge of murdering a Confederate soldier at camp between this city and Petersburg; for which offence he has since been sentenced by court-martial to be hung.
