Shooting at a dog.

--On Christmas morning, a one-legged man was riding up Marshall street, and when near the corner of Fifth, a small dog ran out and created some excitement among the African juveniles in the vicinity, when the man drew a pistol and fired. So far from taking effect in the object aimed at, it came near hitting Messrs. Drinkard & Hawn, who were standing in the door of their store at the time. The ball entered the wall a few inches from the door, where it still remains as a mark of a very unworthy Christmas frolic.
