The Medical Journal.
The
Maryland and
Virginia Medical Journal for January, 1861, is published in very handsome style, and has a most valuable and attractive table of contents.
The articles, original and selected, including those which
Dr. McCaw has translated from foreign periodicals, are all admirable.
The contributors embrace names of acknowledged eminence in the profession in
Virginia,
Maryland and
North Carolina.
The editors are
Dr. D. B.
McCaw, of
Richmond, W. C.
Van Bibber, and Wm.
A'
Hammond. It has been thought wiser to concentrate the talent and resources of the three States we have mentioned upon one periodical, than to fritter away time and money upon several local publications.
This determination has now the test of successful experiment, for we are glad to learn that, under its present form, it is a decided triumph.
We hope it may go on prospering and to prosper.
