The Federal prisoners in Richmond.

Some of the lying purveyors of news for the Northern press have deceived the New York News--a paper which has manfully stood by the rights of the South--with the idea that the prisoners taken by our troops and brought to this city have been cruelly treated. There is no truth in the statement. They are treated kindly, and as considerately as the necessity of their imprisonment will allow. Indeed, a number of them are permitted to roam about at will on their parole.
