[for the Richmond Dispatch.]
Acknowledgment.
Headquarters, 11TH Reg't Va. Vols. Camp, near Centreville, Va., December 24. 1861.
Permit me, in behalf of Company K, (Valley Regulators.) 11th Regiment Virginia Volunteers, to acknowledge through the Dispatch, the receipt of twenty-five pairs of fine woolen socks, a donation from the ladies of the upper end of Rockbridge county.
The woolen socks are an article which was most needed by our men, and will prove conducive to their health and comfort in the field this winter.
We feel that we owe the ladies of the above named section, a debt of gratitude, which our inability, we fear, will leave forever unpaid.
We are the more thankful, as it is the first substantial and patriotic donation received by us from the fair sex. The ladies are, without doubt our ‘"ministering angels."’
