A quiet day.

Yesterday was one of the most quiet days, unexperienced for some time, not even appearing to ripple the calm surprise of the public mind. The telegrams from published in another column, giving in detail the battles of the 8th and all the news of any importance. Along the line of the Chickahominy, of its were more than ordinarily quiet days, bad condition of the roads, if no other preventing any active movements. --The capitals in the city are being rapidly increased of their patients, many of badly wounded having departed for the county or for their homes in the South.
