Gene Simmons is standing by his $12,000 offer for fans to get "The Ultimate Gene Simmons Experience."
On Tuesday, March 25, the KISS bassist and co-lead singer, 75, defended his decision to charge more than $12,000 for one fan to be his "personal assistant and band roadie" for a day in an interview with the New York Post.
“When I was a kid and went to see shows, I was always curious, ‘What’s it like when they’re in a hotel? What’s it like when the stage is set up? What’s it like being onstage when they’re performing and seeing the audience from the stage?’" he told the outlet.

Simmons continued, “I decided, ‘You know what, nobody’s ever done it. Why not open the idea to be my personal roadie for the day?’"
He then went into detail on what the day would entail.
“You meet at the hotel where you have breakfast together or, you know, whatever floats your boat,” added Simmons.
He also noted that the person who purchases the package would be able to bring a friend.
“You ride with me to the gig. You can set up amplifiers and drums to your heart’s content. You’re onstage, right offstage to my right. You can video the crowds, whatever. And I pull you onstage to sing a song with me," said Simmons.
Whoever signs up to be his "personal assistant" will also receive a bass signed by the "Radioactive" singer.
Earlier this month, Simmons announced several Experiences on his official website, which fans can buy ahead of his tour.
"The Ultimate Gene Simmons Experience" will allow fans to meet Simmons and his band and assist him with load-in at the venue, setting up the stage, listening to sound check and spending time backstage.
The roadie will also be able to have a meal with Simmons and will even be introduced to the crowd at the gig.

The experience costs $12,495, plus the original ticket price and comes with a bass guitar KISS previously used. It is only available to one fan per venue.
Simmons is also offering a package called the "Gene Simmons Bass Experience," which will give a fan and three guests the chance to meet the "See You Tonite" artist backstage.
A fan will be able to take home one of Simmons’ bass guitars, which can be signed and personalized for $6,500 for a “non-stage-played” instrument, and $12,500 for one that Simmons previously performed with at a show in addition to the ticket cost.
Simmons is set to hit the road with The Gene Simmons Band in April.
