Selena Gomez Reveals Who Plucked Benny Blanco’s Eyebrows After ‘Begging’ to Do It

Selena Gomez is sharing the story behind her fiancé Benny Blanco's recent eyebrow transformation.

In an episode ofThe Drew Barrymore Show airing on Thursday, March 27, the couple revealed what was going on behind the scenes of the music producer's viral TikTok in which he can be seen getting his eyebrows plucked and shaved. Gomez stands in the background and can be heard saying, "Do it light, because I love him."

"My dilemma was I wanted it to still kind of look like him," the actress and singer, 32, told host Drew Barrymore. "I didn’t, this was not my idea."

"So did you tweeze them?" Barrymore, 50, asked.

"No my makeup artist did," Gomez replied before shouting out her longtime makeup artist, Hung Vanngo.

"I love him, he’s the best," she added, "and it’s subtle is what I’m trying to say."

Gomez further explained that the tweezing session came about because Blanco "was tired of hearing my makeup artist tell him he needs to do it."

"He begged me," Blanco interjected. "He’s been begging me for so long."

The musician then told Barrymore, "Your eyebrows look good."

The talk show host went on to explain that her eyebrows have been thinning, to which Blanco jokingly suggested she could have some of his. "I’ll grow a little patch for you, cut it off and we’ll just—," he said.

"Will you make me like an eyebrow toupee?" Barrymore asked, to which Blanco said, "Of course."

"And we could just glue it on. I’m dead serious," the host added.

In Blanco's TikTok, shared on Saturday, March 22, he begins by zooming in on his eyebrows saying, "OK, guys, here's the before."

When Gomez urges Vanngo to "do it light," he responds, "No, no, I'm not gonna thin nothing out."

As Blanco laughs and winces at the plucking, he jokingly asks Vanngo: "Are we almost done?"

He then reveals his freshly plucked eyebrows, joking that he "can't even tell the difference."

"Can you guys?" he asks.

Fans in the comments were quick to joke that they could.

"Respectfully, yes, we can tell the difference," one user wrote.

"The girlfriend effect is finally happening!!" another fan chimed in (although Gomez and Blanco are engaged, not just dating), with others correcting it to "the fiancée effect." Others complimented the new look, saying: "Huge difference because your eyes pop more now."
