In its nearly 35 years on-air, The Simpsons has become synonymous with TV and defined the primetime animated comedy subgenre. Whether you're looking to catch up on the past 35 seasons or you're hoping to watch the latest episodes from Season 36, we've got you covered on everything you need to know about where to watch The Simpsons online.

The Simpsons has become the longest-running animated American series of all time since first premiering in 1989. The Fox comedy follows Homer Simpson and his family in their day-to-day lives. While the show has faced some criticism over the years and ebbed and flowed in popularity, it has been consistently lauded for its humor and maintained a strong presence throughout pop culture. The series has 37 Emmys from over 100 nominations and won for Outstanding Animated Program just last year, a nod to the show's longevity.

Below, we've compiled all of the ways you can watch the season, whether you're seeking out vintage episodes or you want to watch the most current season. Plus, we'll show you where you can stream The Simpsons Movie.

Where to watch The Simpsons in the US

New episodes of The Simpsons air Sunday nights at 8 p.m. ET on FOX in the US. Season 36 premiered on September 29. If you don't have cable or a good antenna, you can live stream the network on a month-to-month live TV service like Sling TV, DirecTV Stream, or Fubo.

Sling is the cheapest option, with subscriptions starting at $40/month. In order to access FOX, you'll need to subscribe to the Sling Blue plan, which offers about 43 live channels. However, local channel coverage is selective on Sling, so you'll need to make sure FOX is available in your region before subscribing. Right now, you can get your first month of Sling for at least half off.

For just the essentials without any extra fluff, Sling TV is the streaming service you're looking for. It's more customizable than other plans, with three options you can choose from, so you pay for only what you need. New members often get a chunky discount on their first month.

You can also live stream the show through DirecTV Stream or Fubo in the US, two packages with broad FOX coverage. Both services cost $80/month, so they're a bit more expensive than Sling, but they feature tons of live channels and serve as pretty solid cable replacements. DirecTV Stream's base Entertainment plan offers 90+ channels and a five-day free trial, while Fubo's base Pro plan includes 100+ channels and a seven-day free trial. You can also get $20 off your first month of Fubo.

Previously known as AT&T TV, DirecTV offers streaming access to a large selection of live channels, including most key networks typically found in traditional cable packages.

Fubo is the streaming service for sports fans. Its huge library of channels includes regional and international sports leagues, setting it apart from the competition. You can also tack on additional programming to your plan, but it'll cost you extra.

If you don't mind not watching the new episodes live, they become available to stream on Hulu on Mondays. Hulu's basic ad-supported plan starts at $7.99 per month, which you can try out free for 30 days if you don't already have a subscription. This is also where you'll find the current seasons of the rest of Fox's "Animation Domination" shows.

Hulu with Ads (Monthly Plan)

Hulu is an excellent choice for cord-cutters thanks to a mix of exclusive titles and next-day streaming for popular network shows. The app also hosts a wealth of film content, including both straight-to-streaming titles and Academy Award-winning movies.

If you're looking to catch up on the past 35 seasons of "The Simpsons," you'll need a Disney+ subscription. Disney+ monthly rates start at $7.99 for their ad-supported plan, but for $2 more a month ($9.99), you can get both Disney+ and Hulu with the Disney Duo Bundle, which will allow you to stream almost all 760+ episodes of The Simpsons ("Stark Raving Dad," a Season 3 episode deemed offensive, is not available on the streaming service).

Disney+
Disney Plus Ad-Supported (Monthly Plan)

Disney Plus is the top streaming choice for families and fans of blockbuster franchises like Marvel and "Star Wars." This plan features ads and does not support downloads. This is the cheapest tier, although the Hulu bundles are only a few extra dollars a month.

There's a huge double-saving on these two bundled popular ad-supported streaming platforms. The plan offers all content from both Hulu and Disney Plus at a fraction of what it would cost to pay for them separately.

Where to watch The Simpsons in the UK & 60+ other countries

35 seasons of The Simpsons are available to stream on Disney+ in the UK and over 60 other countries. The most recent complete season of The Simpsons routinely hits Disney+ once the newest season begins airing in the US, so Season 35 became available on Disney+ on October 2.

Where to watch The Simpsons Movie

Due to the series' immense success, a film version premiered in 2007. The Simpsons Movie follows Homer after he pollutes Springfield's lake, leading the Environmental Protection Agency to put a dome over the whole town. Although the Simpsons family initially manages to escape, Homer must return to save the town from destruction. The movie is available to stream on Disney+.
